MEET OUR TEAM

Dr. Abena Brown-Elhillali

FOUNDER

Dr. Abena Brown, Ph.D., RYT is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Registered Yoga Teacher with over 20 years of experience providing therapy to children, adults, and groups. Dr. Brown specializes in cognitive behavioral therapies and somatic therapy to treat anxiety, depression, adjustment to stressful life events, and trauma.

Dr. Mickaela Nicholson, M.H.S., Ph.D.

Dr. Mickaela Nicholson is a Registered Psychology Associate in Maryland.
Her expertise includes assessment and evaluation, as well as how trauma and attachment impact the individual and family system. Mickaela earned a Master of Health Science degree from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and is a graduate of Howard University’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program. Her main area of interest is supporting families to promote healing and growth.

Tyisha Jones,  LCPC, Maryland Therapist

 Tyisha L. Jones, LCPC, RYT

Tyisha Jones is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher. She is a graduate of Trinity University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. Tyisha approaches healing through a holistic, cultural, and integrative lens. With this approach, Tyisha takes interest in understanding Indigenous/African-centered frameworks to contextualize modern-day modalities. Tyisha's expertise includes using the arts and somatic activities such as yoga, meditation, breathwork, and story-telling to support trauma informed treatment. 

Charity Jones, LGPC

Charity Jones is a graduate of Washington Adventist University's Master’s degree program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She brings over ten years of experience in human services and mental wellness. Charity primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) but also believes in a flexible, holistic, and client-centered approach, recognizing that each client is the expert of their own life. She is passionate about supporting women, mothers, and individuals striving for personal or professional goals. Charity is deeply committed to empowering clients on their wellness journeys, helping them confidently unlock their full potential.

Alexus Walker, LGPC

Alexus Walker is a graduate of the University of Louisville's Master's Degree Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Alexus brings years of expertise in working with and supporting families and individuals from diverse backgrounds through mental health and social services. Alexus utilizes a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Approach (CBT) and believes in working with her clients to develop practical tools for managing life’s ups and downs while fostering a space for self-discovery and growth. She is passionate about how culture curates growth and is committed to supporting her clients in discovering their inner strengths and finding what feels most authentic to them.
